Subject: RE: Lely Juno

Lacombe, Alberta
We currently use a skidsteer with a blade we pick up using the bucket to push up the feed. We're milking 3x right now at 5am, 1pm and 9pm. We feed at 7 am and 1:30pm and push up the feed after getting the cows in the holding area for each milking and at lunch and late afternoon. We have a Lely Juno 100 in the shed but haven't installed it because of our narrow drivethru. We put a plastic watertrough at one end of the barn as a mockup of the Juno and my dad hit it so we decided to wait with the Juno. We're either going to return it or park it just out of the feed alley but have to see if it is able to park around a corner. Lely salesman was going to take a look a couple weeks ago but we were too busy doing silage then. We have hydraulic scrapers so we should have considered adding an extra track and building a folding hydraulic scraper instead. Only benefit of skidsteer is ability to move feed around to different groups if a group doesn't have the right amount.
