south east Indiana | I mostly have called them wire gates but have heard them called cowboy gates.
The true cowboys I rode with gathering and branding in SD and NE didn't really bother with gates. If we needed to cross pastures they would just get off, take the staples out of a post push the wire down staple it. They could walk their horse over then put it back it back up. No sence riding out of your way to go through an actually gate :) | |
