NorthWest Indiana | I don't think anyone is forcing anyone to do a speech, my perception of this request is to find a topic that is relevant to the student. I do agree forcing a person is hard, but no one really likes to stand up and do a prepared or extemporaneous speech at the beginning.
Topics that come to mind that might be relevant for this student.
Farmstead/barnyard safety--driveways not being playgrounds for children
--safety corners (like in sale barns) for corrals
--grain bin safety
Animals as helpers -- dogs as seeing eye, alerts for seizures, etc
Animals for therapy -- nursing home pets, security,
Just a few that some of my non traditional students have used in the past. Good luck. Find some people for them to speak in front of, Lion's club, nursing home, a group of farmers, come to mind. | |
