| Very true. If you do any type of custom work on any scale for profit, you become very in tune with actual costs and running things efficiently. A lot of custom feeders around here will own part of the pen with their customers. Anywhere from 10-50%. I think that's a good way to go too.
Building a building is a fairly major investment over a dirt lot. You might want a long term commitment from some customers before taking the plunge. Most guys start out doing a lot of custom feeding and over time own more and more of the cattle. You gotta start somewhere.
