Lacombe, Alberta | Here's some pictures of corn harvest this fall. We get a neighbor to open up the fields with a self propelled and do the rest ourselves. First three pictures are how we harvest. Fourth is the catchwagon broke an axle again. We had two spares but needed a seal so we drove to Loewen Welding and got one just before they closed. Got it fixed and were harvesting again in 90 minutes. Fifth picture is a 8500 Can gallon (10000 US) tank that Loewen was finishing. It's really long and has a boom sticking out behind it. Next is what our field looks like with a single axle 3750 US gallon tank on 35.5L32 tires versus the last pick which is a 9500 US gallon tank on four axles. Ours weighs more per axle but does less damage to the grass.
