I would also caution you to get the debt in control on a high year. I remember 2007-08 in the dairy industry. That was a high we had never experienced. Made some spending decisions I wish I could take back in 2009. 2014 has been awesome again for dairy. This time I have paid down operating debt, bought some land, and made some machinery purchases. Land never cash flows, but have made these work. I have always have believed the time to buy tractors is in a downturn of crop prices, especially if I don't have a trade. Repairs can kill cash flow worse than payments if you put enough hours on.
