Central Iowa | We quit raising hogs in 2008, and I don't claim that we were ever cutting edge on our feed tactics...but we made money while we did it. We had a lean to on the side of a barn with 6 pens for gilts, sows & boars. They all got a gestation ration (didn't make sense to feed 6 boars a separate ration) @ 5 lbs/hd/day, bucket fed on the cement.
FWIW- We also fed sows in the farrowing house 5 lbs/hd/day but ration was a lot different to accommodate. | |
