Wow beef. I'm in a little conundrum here about what to let go also. I have a good load or two when we come off stalks Nov 1. Then I'll be on grass and DDG for 60 days and figure out who else goes. Rest go on rye and turn in bulls. Should be there Jan 1 to April 1 and won't have ability to sort out regardless of what the "market" wants.

I'm going to setup a little feedlot with the rye silage. I have some broke mouth cows I'm really on the fence if I should send them to the feedlot or winter grazing (raising awesome calves, bred back quickly last winter, and match my target calving dates.. I also have some solid mouth cows I'm not sure where to go with them. I guess if I can replace them with a profitable heavy bred they go. If not they stay. Kind of a win win either way I think. If they breed back while raising a nice calf they are "carrying their weight"
