Subject: One last round of grazing

south east Indiana

I have one last round of grazing I figured I could squeeze in before the corn is harvested and the ewes can go out in the corn field. I have two groups of ewes, one group with rams busy doing their thing and another group that i will wait to breed for spring lambs to be born on pasture.

Meg and Scott moved the first group out for me the other day. Nice to see the trees changing and colors reflected in the pond. We have finally had some rain this past week so that should help a bunch.

Meg gathered the new girls for me to get a good look at the other morning before work. I know I cheat having her go get them is lots faster than me walking out there. Plus she loves it.

My turnips I broadcast the second week of July. This is as tall as they have gotten. So much for my hopes of getting added forage for the sheep to graze. Not sure what the problem is. It was rather dry end of July, August and Sept. They sprouted but have not grown over an inch tall.
