Unfortunately yes. A lot of land sells and the seller retains a portion of the minerals. Some of the land in TX that still has a fraction attached to the surface may only be 1/4 or 1/32 or something like that. In our immediate area there is not any drilling yet, but a few explorations going on.
As to Caleb's dilemma I wouldn't even give them the time of day for that small amount of money. Several hundred or a thousand I might be more accommodating. One thing about it, brush will grow back. |
