I put toothpaste on it, add a bit of water and put it in my mouth and scrub until it is squeaky clean. Usually twice a day to make sure it stays clean ;^)

I don't worry about germs too much. I'm in the camp that says if you get a cut, you rub dirt into it so it stops bleeding. I call it working on building up the immune system
