Subject: Corn storage in Harvestor

Leesburg, Ohio
Have a couple of blue towers on a rented farm. A 20x35 has already been converted with aeration floor and unloading auger. A 20x80 is next to it, with some old corn silage still in it. Think there is about 20-30' of silage left. What we have raked out the unloader door by hand is very mucky.
Thinking of moving a drying bin to this location from another part of the farm, buying a used air transfer system to go from the drying bin to the silos.
Have some questions:
First, Can I fill the 80 footer to the top with dry shelled corn, or is there a danger of blowing out the lower seams if filled beyond a certain height?
Can I install a side-draw loadout without putting too much stress on the silo? Maybe run a chute to the center with cross-braces?
Second, owner says the steel floor in the 80' is peeling up and blocking the unloader from going around. He removed the unloader, and says we'll have to remove a couple wall sheets and rake the old silage out with backhoe. Any better way, or will this work?

Thanks for your help.
Ken
