Nope I got it right. With natural wet lands to hold and decrease the flow of water it causes less flooding down stream. Plus natural wet land soil could hold a lot more water than most of the tilled soil today. Yes there are still fluke floods but a lot of floods are now caused by humans and mismanagement of the water cycle.
