Subject: Flooding is among primary reasons for wetland loss

E.Central MN
Just read an article about Pothole region losing wetlands in the july 31 issue of AGRI NEWS. Was a bit surprised that flooding reduces wetlands. Sure ag development reduces wetlands, but flooding??? (I suppose if the govt is counting each wetland then flooding would join a bunch of them together into one big wetland instead of 20 little ones. But the net effect would be more acres of wetlands, not less, wouldn't it???)

Maybe they just need to change their method of counting...
