South Central NE | I am a big baseball fan too. I grew up in the 50s and 60s when everybody talked about baseball. I remember the Maris- Mantle homerun race. I think Derek Jeter has been great for the sport for all the reasons you have mentioned. He never seemed flamboyant or in-your-face at all... just a competitor who loved the game. I like the fact that he elected to go out on top rather than going down hill and having to quit. He is a class act! Sports in general need more Derek Jeters and baseball certainly does... Thanks
