North Central Illinois
True story Rab. The majority on this board seem to think every acre of Illinois farm ground is prime and can do 200+ with no sweat. Not the case. Much like Iowa there is vast differences in the soil and productivity index from north to south. That isn't to say that there isn't good ground in the south or poor ground in the north but I think you get the picture. It really amazes me that people are initiating a discussion about final yields on June 23rd! July and August can be very cruel to a corn crop. Are we off to a good start and do things look great? Yes but the race is just getting started!
