MN | What else would we expect to happen? The packers have been trained to eliminate their competition, the real problem here is the regulators that would allow virtually all of our meat production to be consolodated into so few hands. Don't see that changing, most people don't care ... They think steak comes from Beef section at Walmart, they don't care about the monopolistic packers and care even less about the guys (or gals) raising it. All they care about is that it's there.
Maybe this cycle they will tighten their grips on the feedlots, next cycle they come after the cows?Who knows? But I do know, small time feeders will get even fewer and farther between. | |
