We are a family of 4.  I have skied before in  my younger years.  Don't ask.  My 16 year old daughter wants to "experience" skiing before she gets to old she says.  Also have a 15 year old daughter who would ski, but not as excited about the idea as the 16 year old.

I have been to the big resorts for skiing once over Christmas break, never again.  It took over 1 hour to get on our first lift in the morning.

We want something that is not crowded with some green for her to ski on.  Maybe some side actives would nice also.  My wife does not ski.

I was thinking this.

Take the train from Hastings, Ne. (leave at 1:47 am) arrive at Glenwood Springs at 1:53 pm.  Get a car if I can.  Lodge at Carbondale and ski Buttermilk for 3 days.

Call it good.

What do you think of that plan?   We have never been on the train.
