Coldwater, Michigan | A lot of Borg Warner transmissions of Manual and automatics were used in the Studebaker vehicles in mid 50's (maybe earlier) till they went out of business in 1966. Ford and GM also used a bunch of Borg Warner. Indiana has an active Chapter or two of the Studebaker Drivers Club. They might have a clue how to help you mate some of those ideas to the truck. I recently sent a BW T96 3 speed manual tranny to Idaho for a Bradley tractor. That was out of a 1964 Studebaker Lark sedan. That tranny was used in vehicles from the mid 1940's till mid 60's by a couple different companies. Was also used in Rambler, GM, and Ford vehicles over quite a period of time. That timeframe might be your friend to find a match. You might also be able to match them up over quite a timeframe if people knew who actually made a particular tranny. Many of the BW also carried a GM or a Ford tag beside it on the tranny.
It might just be a matter of the proper adapter plate. In 1965 Studebaker cars used "Harmon" (?) engines and needed an adapter plate to mate to the BW Auto and manual trannies. The Harmon (?) was the Canadian equivalent of the US versions of the 6 Cyl GM engine and the GM 283.
