Subject: RE: Trying to update EZ Guide Plus(another problem)

I got EZ Toolbox installed and the update in it. It's telling me to turn off power to the lightbar before clicking proceed. Then it tells me after clicking proceed to turn power on to lightbar before clicking proceed. I am sitting in my house at my computer, so I can't turn the power to the lightbar on or off. What am I missing or doing wrong here?

This gets to be more of a pain if you don't have a laptop but it can be done without too much trouble. Because you said you're sitting in your house doing this, I'm assuming you have a desktop computer. I am also assuming this means that you have not connected your EZ-Guide+ to your computer with the cable GPSNut talked about. The computer does have to be physically connected to the EZ-Guide+ with the proper cable to do this update. There is no way for the EZ-Guide+ to recieve information via a USB drive or any type of disk unfortunately.

If you have a desktop the easiest way to connect your EZ-Guide+ to your computer is to bring your EZ-Guide+ inside and connect it to a little batter like what you might find in a motorcycle and do the update inside while sitting at your computer. Your other option is to find a friend that has a laptop with a serial port (so you can use the appropriate cable) and go out to your machine to do the update. You will have to re-download the EZ-Toolbox on your friends computer, install the EZ-Toolbox on your friends computer, download the update on your friends computer. Either way you have some obstacles but you can get it done.
