Central Texas | Even if calf/yearling prices don't encounter a significant decline, you can dang sure bet that operating expense will see significant increases. Actually it's already happening to some extent as most everything we buy, except possibly new crop grain products, is getting more costly every day.
There is a fundamental law of economics that say's some thing like "The price of any commodity will rise or fall, over time, to match the average cost of production for all producers." Doesn't happen overnight, but will happen over time.
Just like with grains the last few years, the cure for high prices is high prices and low prices are the cure for low prices.
Not trying to be a pessimist, but whether good times or not so good times, this too shall pass, so better make hay while the sun shines.
