Karen have to agree with you. Not into high stakes gambling. If can't pencil a modest profit, will let someone smarter do it. That's why I'm out of stockers and focusing on the old cows as they will pencil. As long as calf prices are high the cows will work. If calf prices drop to unprofitable levels for the cows to work then will wean/keep calves switching back to stockers, as cheap calves usually mean profits for stockers.
Always heard, "Those who fail to learn history are doomed to repeat it." Still remember 1974 and trying to avoid a repeat.
