Faunsdale, AL | I AI-ed dairy cows on synchronized and natural heats for a year, thawing and loading up to 6 AI guns. each wrapped in paper towel and put in waist band of pants ( inside coveralls in winter). My cycle time from thaw, load guns, AI all the cows and make it back was usually 20 minutes or less. I recorded the order I used each straw as a different technician (first straw was #1, second was #2.........etc). After a year and over a thousand breedings, I couldn't see any difference in conception rates between #1 and #6. Of course there were a lot more #1's than #6's because some times I only had 1 (or 1 more) to breed.
