Subject: GPS accuracy

Dayton, IA
A friend and I were arguing about accuracy of different systems. Signals increase based on level of correction. WASS, OMNI-STAR, RTK. Steering systems are based on speed of correction, ability of machine to hold line, etc.

We both agree that Integrated should be more accurate than EZ-Steer. OMNI-STAR should be more accurate than WAAS. Argument is that EZ-Steer with OMNI-STAR should be more accurate than Integrated system with WAAS. I say the correction signal makes a much larger difference than the steering system (assuming time has been spent to correctly calibrate both systems). He says an integrated system is enough better that it can be run on WAAS and do a better job than the EZ-Steer with correction.

I am running the EZ-Steer on OMNI-STAR and he is integrated steering so there is some pride at stake.

Thanks
A.J.
