This clay is interesting. For us Nitrogen fertilizer will persist for years and years and not leach away.

The clay here will trap potassium, enough so that we need 400 ppm K to have a reasonable level in the tissue analysis. ...

Friends in East Texas Sandy Soils will need to refresh their pastures with N every 3 to 6 weeks. Here a fertilizer spreader malfunction was obvious 20 years later.

Here the soil is also calcareous which has it's benefits but also some frustrating problems.

We have some good memories but we also have a large collection of lessons.
