Subject: RE: Back problem questions

Nwmo
I haven't had back problems yet but I have had knee problems, my knee doc told me not to let anyone near my knee with steroid shots. They cause the cartilage to degenerate more rapidly and will lead to arthritis sooner. My dad is going through horrible back pain right now. It hurts just to see him walk or stand. He cant have an MRI because of a piece of metal in his hand that has to be taken out first. His local doc gave him a bunch of muscle relaxers and they didn't do anything so he is going to down to KU. They have a spine unit so hopefully he will get something figured out. If I were you I would go get an MRI now just so you know what is going on, everything else you do just puts off the inevitable if you do have a serious problem. Right now my biggest regret in life is waiting three years to have my knee worked on. The surgery recovery was pretty bad for me but I was in bad shape physically and mentally before the surgery.

Good Luck
Devin
