I think it wouldn't hurt to write a letter or simply have a friendly chat with the local TSC store manager to express your displeasure about their hospitality toward ASPCA. It might have been a decision made by the local management, or this event could have been forced on them from higher up.
IMO, ASPCA and HSUS are equally despicable. It is the ultimate slap in the customer's face that a business which supposedly depends on production agriculture for its existence gives either of these organizations aid and comfort.
