| Sugar is mostly a matter of habit, start removing it from tea or coffee, maybe just keep milk in it at first, and soon you won't miss it. Soda is probably more addictive from its caffeine than its sugar, but it sure plays a role too. Removing most sugar and sweets from your diet makes the presence of sugar in desserts an even greater treat. That's probably what sugar should be reserved to, desserts (and a bit of jam or honey at breakfast), not drinks or snacks, or hidden in ketchup, beans or other supposedly savory dishes. It makes reducing sugars an easier task if you can control where and when in your meal it is allowed. | |
