I have never found the need to wrap on the egg. Everything is still very moist. I always start a very small fire in the middle and use small pieces of wood 4 inch long quartered out of a 2inch limb. placed like a spoke on a wheel from center so what ever way it takes off from the middle it will have smoke. If you get to smoking alot check out bbq guru takes out all guess work.
