This is not the case of older installs and most installs are not yet at grid parity except for a few locations in the southwest US     Consumer generated (net metering)  power will have huge gains the next 5 years in US.  I am not sure how things are panning out in Canada, though.  What are you seeing for consumer financed, net metered solar installations?
