You aren't kidding. I just left all the wheat I didn't harvest last year standing and sprayed it. Now most of it is nearly down to bare ground. Ironically the ground where the volunteer got big before we killed it is holding real well but where we sprayed it while it was small it withered away to nothing and we've had problems with it blowing.
