A really good antenna, if you do not have a tower is a CCD. (Controlled Current Distribution) It is a full wave antenna, dipole type, with capacitors and resistors every so many inches. I had built one some years ago for 75 meters. We used it on Field Day at 30' and it worked like a dipole at 100'. Article: http://www.cebik.com/wire/ccd.html
