Subject: "Finding 350 mln bu. of corn..."

Boone Co. Iowa
Apparently it was the March 31 report last year that the USDA found their bushels of corn, and market dropped significantly....

What are the odds that it happens this year? There is approximately $2.50 difference in December futures from a year ago.

I have 0% of 2014 priced, and was thinking it wise to get some priced above the spring crop insurance prices....Currently at $4.84, 22 cents above spring price of $4.62.

My plan is to put an order in for approximately 15% of my aph corn yields @ $4.98 (HTA) prior to the end of the month report; if we don't hit that by the 25th or so, I'll probably just get 5 or 10% sold just to have it on the books.

Be curious if anyone else is thinking like me.....

Sold about 30% last year within a nickel of the $5.65 crop insurance price and that was my best sale (so far, still have a little 2013 unpriced in the bin).

Corn looks to be pretty solid and trending up and I expect to make better sales in May and June but prefer to get started prior to report.
