Could you please point us to where you are hearing this news of South American Bean cancellations? I don't doubt what you are saying but I would be interested in knowing who is saying it.
It actually begins to make sense following other reports of heavy rains and road damage in Mato Grosso, Some of the pictures I've seen of ships loading soybeans at South American ports have trucks lined up alongside ships unloading directly into the ships. It takes a great many truckloads to fill even a smaller bulk carrier if you can't reliably load the whole ship in a reasonable period it doesn't make sense to bring it into port.
That still leaves the question as to the actual size of the crop given the possibilities of harvest losses.
