Beresford, SD | Heard from a very good source that Greater Omaha paid $153.5 picked up live with a 3% am load. (as I wright this that is a $3.5 dollar positive basis) Looking at the board, We are discounted very heavy going to June market, (153 cash today-135 June board =$18 spread) and the fall market is really flat % wise coming out of the summer low. SOMETHING HAS TO GIVE! The futures tell us that we are in a serious BEAR market. If we take out the highs next week....and blow out the cash highs from 3-4 weeks ago LOOK OUT. I talked to my broker today At Swenson Commodities in Sioux Falls today and he said A LOT of "APRIL" cattle got pulled ahead today and sold cash and lifted their April positions. WE ARE SO CURRENT IT IS CRAZY.........this BEAR market should keep us in this position until new crop calves hit the market. I just am having a hard time selling the December board when it is discounted $15/cwt from todays cash price. | |
