Northern Illinois | I don't recall anyone saying $2 corn but whatever. Predictions for much lower prices were/are thought to be for the '14 crop and beyond. So let's take a quick look at where we are. Dec '14 corn is currently at $4.67^4 after trading at $5.79^6. Nov '14 beans are currently at $11.65^6 after trading at $13.00. If that isn't a bear market please let us know what is. If you are proclaiming the bear is dead or the bear got slaughtered just wondering what your opinion of a bull market is. To me we need to take out the old contract highs and post a close over those contract highs or is all we are doing is having a correction in a bear market. So just so we all know what your definition of a bull market? How high do prices need to go for us to be in a bull market? Or do you think we are already in a bull market even though we are over a dollar off the contract highs?
edit-even if you are looking at old crop. In '12 we posted a high of $17.94^6 and in '13 we posted a $16.30 high. We are also currently below 2011 highs.
