As for crop saving rains. That's what insurance is for.
2012 will go down as one of the most profitable years in recent history, and it was in the middle of a drought. bushel gaurantees in the 7's, what little you did harvest in the 8's. 1/4 of the fuel and hauling. heck side-dressing even paid off. by the time it was ready to pull the trigger it was apparent things were going to burn up, so why bother, save on inputs.
But if you think you got it so bad I will trade you even up tillable acre for tillable acre
