Subject: Tedder or Rotary rake or both?

Cleburne TX
Snow is melted, looking at the hay ground got me thinking. Although looks like it won't be above freezing here this week. Anyway always a battle to get hay up dry here.

BIL said they quite using the tedder and went to a rotary rake. Said the fluffy windrow really drys with a little breeze, which we usually have. Know rotary rakes are pricy but so is rained on hay. Have a tedder. Cut with a mower conditioner, took all the tin off the back last year, leaves it in a wide swath really fluffed. That helps but still like to take a day off drying time.

What works best for you? Not many acres so can do whatever. Heavy dew most nights can't bale before noon.
TIA
