Subject: More number crunching

Northwest kansas

Just got some done with some numbers. Found out how much my feed cost per pound. Got to a total of 3.5 cents per pound. Didn't think that was to bad. I figured my cows are eating around 27 pounds per day so that is 91 cents per day. Also, I feed the cows 5 gallons of ground milo a day (they treat it like candy). I used $3.50 for a bushel of milo, although its actually free. I got the milo price down to 50 cents per day, with 23 cents a day in pellets. I am thinking the cows are going to be cut down on the pellets. My total feed cost for 1 day is $1.64 per day per cow. Now guys, please remember these are old cows. They cant simply eat regular hay. Thanks in advance.
