Eastern Kansas
I just put one on a heifer about six weeks ago. Heifer was stubborn, probably took 2 weeks for her to finally take to it. She acted motherly to it but would kick the **** out of it when it tried to suck. Luckily the calf was so aggressive it wouldn't give up. This is no **** - the heifer would finally have enough and lay down and the calf would suck the heifer while it was laying down. Lol. I've never seen that before but it'd happen every day. I'd go out to do chores and heifer would be laying on it's side with that crazy holstein calf sucking away.

One thing I did do that I think helped was hobble her for a couple days. It's been a probably 6 weeks now and they've been turned out with the other cows for probably 2 weeks and all is going well.
