Iowa | If you are not responsible enough and do not respect someone enough to ask before using their property, you do not deserve to be there.
I've got some that use my property as a shortcut. The parent was respectful enough to ask if their kids could do it. I'm not crazy about the idea, but it's probably safer for them than using the public road ditches like I did when I was young. In this case I'd rather take the risk of something happening on my property than live with the risk of one of them getting hurt in a road ditch and knowing it probably would not have happened if I would have let them cross our field instead. Also, it sort of comes down to how you want to be remembered. If I'm going to be remembered as a mean old man, I hope it will be for a better reason than this. Those kids already have some good memories of their adventures.
