The older Axial Flows had an optional rock trap at the end of the feeder chain and in front of the rotor inlet which was essentially a feeder beater . Don't know if the 8010 has this option or not.
I suspect the feeder beaters on the STS and others main function is swatting rocks too. Rocks in the rotor cage is bad news.
