Subject: Re: RTK subscription $$$

John Deere's RTK requires no subscription. It is built into the cost of the system, which is why it may seem higher in cost.
If you have the autotrack ready deere tractor, you would only then need one of the three tractor displays: original greenstar display and mobile processor (brown box), gs2 2100 (small one), or the gs2 2600 (large touch screen).
You will need to have autotrack SF2 activated on a keycard for the original greenstar display/processor, if using one of the greenstar 2 displays have autotrack sf2 activated on them.
The starfire receiver on your tractor needs to be unlocked for sf2/rtk, and you will need a base station starfire ITC activated to sf2/rtk.

After that there isn't any other cost, only type of RTK subscription I can imagine with Deere's system is if your local Deere dealership chain has a base station network that you could use for a yearly fee to avoid having to have your own base station.

The thing about John Deere's system you can buy a 7 day sf2 signal subscription if you need to run for a short period. Otherwise their normal subscription lengths are still there as well. When one doesn't want to run RTK, you can use the receiver on your tractor and/or base station to run on either SF1 for free or purchase the 7 day, 3 month, 6 month, etc...

Or run your base station on your own network and sell fees to your neighbors to run off your base station. A lot of options.
