The middle of Iowa
Let's clarify the scenario in question:
1). We don't use commercial dishwasher detergent.
2). If I were washing dishes by hand, I would still prewash most of the grime from the dishes to prevent having to drain my sink mid-wash.
3). I NEVER complain or criticize when someone else does the dishes.
And finally, I was merely acknowledging that some dishes come out with residue if they aren't quickly wiped with a cloth, so he could choose to wipe them or leave them in the sink.
I find it disturbing to think that old food particles may not get flushed from the dishwasher and gather bacteria only to contaminate other surfaces meant to be in contact with your mouth. My dishwasher didn't come with a magic scrubbing elf... so it's my dishwasher and I'll do what I want with it.
Sincerely,
#1 @xivranch
