E.Central MN | I think most reporters think that all grain gets hauled to town as soon as its harvested, it all fits into those huge elevators, right? If they see a pile of corn and are told its a half million bushels they have to be thinking what in the world are they going to do with all of that corn? They never stop to think that a pile like that disappears every year along with many more piles just like it. It takes a lot of grain to feed the world every day/365 days of the year with a few bushels kept in storage in case the next delivery of grain doesn't arrive as scheduled. This large crop of $4 corn will allow grain buyers to sleep a little easier knowing they can afford to keep a few more bushels on hand. $8 corn didn't allow much of that. | |
