I bought a Commander last year and the rep said I didn't need a rate controller. The diaphragm pump acts like a ground driven pump, when tractor slows up the rate slows up as long as it stays in the same gear. When I apply chemical it is accurate. Why do you have a rate controller? Is it more accurate, what do you like about it?
