John, us humans take ourselves much too seriously.  Nature can and will humble the best of us.  Anyone who thinks they can predict the markets, whose spikes and lows are generally tied to the weather, had better look at the track record of the global warming crowd.  They also thought they could predict the weather, and they had the nearly unlimited resources of big government behind them, and the best minds that money can bribe, I mean buy.  And the rest of us think we can make plans 3 years out based on weather, let alone politics.

And as for the volcano, the risk is real enough that having a mere 60 days of reserves worldwide is pure lunacy.  But as they say, everything works until it doesn't, and so it is with just in time delivery.
