Subject: Anybody use guns as a store of wealth?

Been some questions on this site lately regarding investments, and got me thinking about some more unconventional places to store money. I have nice "late model" guns now, ones I use for hunting but certainly not collecter types. Was thinking guns would be a good way to Dollar cost average my investment by buying some every month or 2 for alonger period of time. How is the market now on the collector guns? Can remember when the model 12's were all the rage, but they seem to have lost some of their luster? Not looking for the extreme collector pieces, but what would be a few good models to look for. Would model 12's be a good place to start? Pro's, con's to this idea. Insurance would come to mind.
