Suggest you introduce yourself and try to visit with some of the packer buyers and get to know them. The one's I compete against know that they will get another shot at any cow I buy a few months later. Since I reminded them of this they don't seem to push me too hard. They just bid up to whatever their price limit is and for 1 more bid I can buy them. Asking them questions about what they like to buy and what they avoid, etc will help build a relationship with them, which should help you from a competitve stand point. Also let them know you will have quite a few to sell in the spring and ask what they suggest as to how to sell them. | |
