I was working for a guy when they first got a rubber tracked 85E. Using it to pull ditches... big ditches... with a V-ditcher (probably foreign to most of you, but you drive down the bottom of a V shaped ditch). Rolled track off in the bottom of the ditch. Out in the old lake bottom here. It took pickup loads of cribbing to get it jacked up. Probably still some RR ties down there somewhere. That was a lot of fun, took couple days.
Yea that's why we still keep the steel tracks around, even then got make sure you have some good rail height and the pins & bushings are still tight and the track is not too sloppy don't ask me how I know. |
